A 5K run and walk will take place at the Historic Public Square in Medina to support the families of fallen American heroes.
The Tunnels to Towers Foundation 5K Run & Walk is a community fundraising series where people can help fund beneficial programs for veterans, first responders, and their families. The organizers hope to raise at least $20,000.
This event was created to honor firefighter Stephen Siller, a man who lost his life at the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001. Awards will be given out at the race for firefighters, police officers, and military personnel who complete the course while wearing their gear.
The Tunnels to Towers Foundation is an organization that supports American heroes with several helpful programs. The group has raised over $500m for veterans and first responders and delivered more than 1,000 mortgage-free homes to those in need of houses. The foundation also created a mobile exhibit to remind people about the events of 9/11. Frank Siller is the chairman of the organization, and Janis Hannan is the vice chair.
The 5K will be on Sunday, September 10 from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. Adults may pay $35 to register for the event, and those aged 13-17 can register for $25. Discounts are available for first responders and veterans. Charitable foundations in charge of similar 5Ks may use flyer printing to interest more people in their fundraisers.
