Beginner beekeeping class to return to Medina

A session for those interested in beekeeping is set to return to Medina next month.

Hosted by the Medina County Beekeepers twice every year, the first beginner class of 2020 will take place at the Medina County District Library on two different days. All who are interested in an in depth introduction beekeeping are welcome to register online for the class. Organizers of such events often use poster printing to catch the attention of those who are interested in attending.

Tickets to the class cost $100 per family, $85 per individual, and are free to members of the Medina County Beekeepers Association (MCBA) who have previously taken a class. Participants are encouraged to pack and bring their own lunches.

Topics that will be detailed in the all-day event include the cost of buying and caring for honey bees, necessary items to purchase beforehand, how to properly feed and care for bees in all four seasons, what to do when problems come up, and how to harvest honey.

Those new to the beekeeping class will receive a textbook and a one-year membership with the Medina County Beekeepers Association at the conclusion of the event.

This event is set to take place on Saturday, February 22 and again on Saturday, February 29 from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm on both days.
