Colerain organization to celebrate Donauschwaben Day

The Cincinnati Donauschwaben Society will be honoring its founders this August by hosting a celebration in Colerain.

Donauschwaben Day is an event where the community can experience German culture while celebrating the founders of the Society. The club will be giving out pins and will hold an awards ceremony for its members. The festival will feature traditional foods and music, and a parade will be held in the afternoon. Banner printing can assist organizations like this by creating noticeable roadside ads for their celebrations.

The Cincinnati Donauschwaben Society is a family-oriented non-profit group that works to preserve German language and culture. The organization was initially formed during the 1950s by Central Europeans of German descent. The society offers activities for all ages, such as authentic dance workshops and song lessons. There are several cultural events that the organization hosts, including concerts, balls, and wine tastings.

The festival will be held on Saturday, August 9 from noon to 6:00 pm. The kitchen will be opened at 1:00 pm, and the parade will start at 3:00 pm. Those interested in becoming part of the Cincinnati Donauschwaben Society can apply online. Once declared a member, families will be charged an annual membership fee of $35. Members can help out during events like Donauschwaben Day and vote on important issues such as the election of trustees.
