Colerain library raises awareness of local plant benefits
This February, the Groesbeck Library in Colerain, Ohio will be holding a class educating attendees on tinctures and herbal infusions.
The Tinctures and Infusions class aims to teach people how to take advantage of the benefits of alternate medication found in their backyards. Through the use of native flowers, herbs, and weeds, Colerain residents are capable of creating useful remedies with the techniques learned in the course. Everyone who participates in the program will also receive a personal sample of properly dried and stored herbs.
Carisa Hund-Bunten will be the instructor for the Tinctures and Infusions class. Hund-Bunten works for the family-owned Seventh Street Gifts business, specializing in handcrafted natural goods. Their store has been operating since 1999 and has been conducting workshops teaching people various lessons in making candles, soap, and other useful products.
Businesses interested in working with the library can submit their own program ideas online. Whether the program comes from a restaurant wishing to demonstrate cooking methods, or print shops educating the public on how stationery is formed, the Groesbeck Library welcomes all proposals.
The class will be held on February 5 in the evening from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. This course is recommended for teens and adults and is currently accepting registrations on the library’s website. Hund-Bunten’s class is open to the public and is free to attend.
