What's Happening in Cincinnati, OH…

Colerain gives residents a taste of area restaurants

For the past quarter century, Colerain residents have had something to look forward to at the end of summer. The yearly Taste of Colerain returns to the township's Administrative Complex this weekend.

Highlights of the annual event include a ‘Best of Taste’ contest, during which a variety of dishes will be sampled by judges. The creators of the dish that wins will be given plaques recognizing their efforts. Categories for the Best of Taste competition include entree, appetizer, and side dish. There is also a prize for Best Decorated and Best Dessert.

Since the focus of the two-day event is on food, at least 21 area restaurants will be serving something to eat. Walt's and Red Squirrel will once again be participating, as are a few new-to-the-area eateries, including Long Horn Steakhouse. At the time of writing, the full list of restaurants was not finalized and the organizers expected to add a few more. Once the list is finalized, organizers could use flyer printing to get the word out.

A number of musical acts and bands will perform during the festival, on the PNC Entertainment Stage. A dance band, the Lounge Lizardz, will perform on Friday, August 8, starting at 7:00 pm. The next day, classic rock act the Jay Jesse Johnson Band will take the stage at 5:00 pm. The Rusty Griswolds will follow at 7:00 pm.

The event starts at 5:00 pm both nights and offers free admission, as well as free parking.
