Colerain family look for laughter and help
A family from Colerain is hoping that people will be able to laugh as they help raise money for a relative's medical bill.
Ron Blanton, who lives in Colerain Township with his wife, Carol, and three kids, learned in October that he has non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Blanton was about to have heart surgery when his doctor made the diagnosis.
Although the Blanton's live in Colerain, the fundraiser will be held in Loveland, at the Izaak Walton League. Dubbed the ‘Team Ron Fundraiser’, it will feature comedians Cal Jansen, Tony Pritchard, and Alex Rozoff.
Diane Becker, who is Carol and Ron's niece, is organizing the event. When events like this are open to the public, organizers often use measures like flyer printing to spread the word to people in the area and nearby towns.
In addition to the comedians' performances, the afternoon will feature raffles, snacks, and face painting. Although admission is free, donations are welcome and will be graciously accepted. People are also encouraged to donate online to Team Ron, on the Give Forward website.
Any proceeds raised will go towards Mr. Blanton’s medical bills, which include both cancer treatment and the heart surgery, and had to be postponed until after the cancer is cleared from his system.
The fundraiser will take place on January 17, from noon to 4:00 pm.
