Colerain Chamber of Commerce kicks off new tradition

For the first time, the Colerain Chamber of Commerce plans on hosting a Business Awards Dinner, to recognize the efforts of community and business leaders in the area.

Although the dinner is a first for the Colerain Chamber, it has long been a tradition among chambers of commerce, according to Debra Stonehill, the chamber president. Speaking to the Community Press, she noted that she planned on making the dinner an annual event.

Part of the goal of the dinner is to bring attention to the contributions local businesses have made to the community. A number of businesses were nominated by members of the chamber for awards such as ‘New Business of the Year’, ‘Business of the Year’, and ‘Business Leader of the Year’. A number of other awards, such as the Community Impact Award and the Rising Star Award, will also be handed out at the dinner.

The dinner is also a great opportunity for chamber members to network, so most should think about bringing along custom business cards to give out to new contacts.

Along with the awards and chance for networking, a highlight of the dinner will be guest speaker Mark Fisher, the vice president of facilities at the Cincinnati Zoo. TV and radio reporter Andrew Setters, a native of Colerain, is another special guest.

The dinner begins at 6:00 pm on October 22. It will take place at the Wunderland Banquet Center. Tickets are $60 for members of the Chamber of Commerce and $65 for nonmembers.
