Avon Lake to host cookie-themed run
The Lorain County Medical Society will hold a race in Avon Lake to help raise money for its scholarship foundation.
The Cookie Run 5K is a family-friendly athletic fundraiser where people can support Lorain County students who wish to enter a health-related field. The race will take place at the Kopf Family Reservation, and awards will be given to the top finishers. People can even receive a prize for wearing the best cookie-themed costume. After the race, participants will get a cookie from the Sugar Riot bakery and light refreshments. Registrants will also get a branded mug.
The Lorain County Medical Society is an organization dedicated to serving local physicians. The group supports its members by preserving the professionalism in medicine and providing services that help physicians run successful medical practices. The organization created the Lorain County Medical Scholarship Foundation to promote health-related careers to students and ensure there will be enough properly trained medical professionals to serve the county.
The cookie-themed race will be on Saturday, August 5. Registration for the event will open at 7:00 am, and the first race will begin at 8:15 am. People can participate in the 5K or single-mile race for $30. Children may enter the Kids’ Run for free.
