YMCA series holds first of three run/walks
Patchogue Family YMCA 5K Run/Walk will be the first of three events in the 2020 YMCA 5K Series, and will be held in early April.
Registration fees for adults will be $25 online and $30 on race day. For youth under 18, online fees will be $15 and $20 on race day. The Kids Fun Run will be free. Swag will include gray hoodies with the event’s graphic design and will go to the first 500 pre-registrants.
The course will be the same as last year’s Santa’s 5K Toy Trot. The race/walk will begin between the Shorefront Park parking lot and the park on Smith Street. The one-mile marker will be on the Southside of Carman Ave a little past West Bay Avenue. The ‘mile two’ marker will be on Grove Avenue just as it turns onto S. Breeze Drive. Mile three will be on Smith Street at the finish line. The course is a certified USA Track and Field run.
The kids’ run will begin at 8:45 am and start time for the 5K will be 9:00 am. Awards will be given for the three top overall males and females and the top three male and female finishers in 15 age divisions.
This run/walk will benefit the Strength Through Stokes and Strides program that aids pediatric cancer survivors.
Patchogue Family YMCA 5k Run/Walk has been scheduled for April 4 at Shorefront Park on Smith Street. Please double check with the organizers nearer the time to make sure it is going ahead.
