Patchogue to test fitness and health at festival

Next month, the Family Olympics and Health Fair will take place in Patchogue, proving good-natured competition, fun games, and health education.

The fair will be a combination of Olympic-style games of physical fitness and health and wellness outreach. Families are encouraged to come out and participate in fun games, challenging physical activities, and health and wellness tests. Over 20 health and wellness vendors will be present at the event for attendees to talk with about their health journeys and engage in interactive exhibits educating people on how they can live healthier lives.

The games and challenges will consist of team and relay events as well as field events. The team and relay events will include Piggy Back Daddy, a wheelbarrow race, the Wet Sponge Toss, the Human Knot, Blindfold Blitz, Baton Race with Frankenstein, and Ball Hippy Hop. The field activities will feature fencing, horse races, ring toss, a javelin throw, and a 40-yard dash.

Organizers of such festivals may decide to advertise through Flyers, which can be printed by local flyer printing companies and distributed on foot or in the mail.

The health fair will take place on Saturday, August 17 from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm. It will be held at Rider Avenue Park, which is located at 10 Gale Court. There is no cost to attend.
