This June, Patchogue will get a jumpstart on fitness by having the option to participate in the Physical Performance for a Purpose activity challenge, which will be hosted by Patchogue-Medford Youth and Community Services (PMYSC) and Sayville Running Company.
The PMYCS Physical Performance for a Purpose will challenge participants to complete 150 minutes of exercise per week for the month of June. This can be any kind of activity, from walking to hiking. To log activity times for the leaderboard, participants will enter their name, activity, and time online on the organizer’s website. Registrants will receive a T-shirt with a unique Logo Design pertaining to the event. They will also have a chance to enter the raffle once the month's minutes are completed.
Organizers encourage participants to engage with social media during the activity challenge by printing off their designated bib and taking pictures wearing it while doing their activity. These pictures can then be uploaded to the participant's Facebook and Instagram pages. The photos can also be added to the results page of the website.
The PMYCS Physical Performance for a Purpose challenge is scheduled to run from Tuesday, June 1 to Wednesday, June 30. Registration is $25 and ends on June 10. More information about the event can be acquired by filling out the questionnaire on the organizer’s website.
