Patchogue to celebrate 19 years of cask ales
This November, Blue Point Brewing Company in Patchogue will present the 19th Annual Cask Ales Festival, which organizers expect to be the biggest one yet.
The annual cask ale festival celebrates the unique method of cask-conditioning used to make cask ales. The process consists of using a firkin, which is 10.8-gallon vessel, to pour filtered beer in, where it is then carbonated and sealed. It then undergoes a final fermentation. This method ensures that the beer produced has a rounder mouthful, gentle carbonation, and more complex flavor and aroma profile.
The festival will feature cask ale tastings, food trucks, local vendors, games, and live entertainment. Over 60 breweries will be represented, each sharing samples of their flagship cask ales. The Warped Tour Band will have live musical performances, and there will be a skateboard demonstration by Wampum. The sponsor lineup includes The Glass Garden, Donatina Pizza, C4 Energy, the Pretzel Factory, and more.
