Patchogue runs for hope
Hope House is hosting two different runs in Patchogue on the same day to raise awareness for addiction. The Fun Run event is for children and the 5K run is for adults.
Hope House is a local organization that provides a variety of services including residential options for homeless youth and a 12–18-month addiction treatment program. This race will help raise money to help the Hope House continue providing services.
The 5K race features a flat course certified by the USATF. There will be awards for the top three male and female runners. The age groups are split up into 14 different categories ranging from age 14 to 75+.
The Hope House 5K run/walk to end addiction and Kids’ Fun Run event will take place at the Shorefront Park on Sunday, August 2, 2020, rescheduled from May 16. For runners who register by July 23, a T-shirt with printed graphic design is guaranteed.
Entry for the 5K run is $27 for participants registered by August 1. Otherwise, the cost for entry on the day of the race is $33. Entry for the Kids Fun Run is $5 and it begins at 8:30 am, while the 5K starts at 9:00 am. Please be advised that while most nearby streets will have parking, guests may not park east of Rider Avenue between Park Street and Smith Street.
