Patchogue hosts annual art fair

Patchogue’s arts district, Terry Street, will be buzzing with its annual Arts of Terry contemporary art fair in June. This will be part of this year’s Artful Antics Festival Season 2019.

The event will be brought to Terry Street by Patchogue Arts, Patchogue BID, Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce, and the Pat-Med Library.

The festivities will be for all ages and will feature over 200 artists hailing from many Long Island Arts Organizations in 13 pop up galleries. The galleries will be presenting works that exemplify the humorous, joyful whimsical themes of the Artful Antics Festival.

Artist will also present art demonstrations, exhibits, and some will paint pictures onsite. Artists will be placed throughout the festival painting pictures on either 6’ x 8’ or 4’ x 4’ canvases. There will also be live music performances and poetry readings. The street will be teeming with family activities.

A spray-painted 15' by 45'temporary mural will be placed at the back of the Patchogue-Medford Library. This will be a backdrop for the event. When cities support art installations such as this, they usually take pictures that they include in their tourist guide brochure printing.

All fair attendees are encouraged to walk through the Patchogue Garden Club Community Garden and admire this year’s outdoor sculptures. The sculptures will be on display from now until October 30th.

Arts on Terry 2019 will take place on Taylor Lane and Terry Street, Sunday, June 23rd from noon until 6:00 pm
