Patchogue crafts event to help local animal shelters

Next month, the Patchogue-Medford Library will host Kindness and Kittens, an arts-and-crafts charity event to support local animal shelters.

As a public library in Suffolk county, the Patchogue-Medford Library serves residents of the Patchogue-Medford school district. Its mission is to empower, educate, and support the community by providing accessible, quality resources, and activities. The Kindness and Kittens event is one such activity that provides residents with an opportunity to get involved in communal acts of service.

Kindness and Kittens will involve making cat toys to donate to local animal shelters. The crafting kits will be available at the library for residents to pick up beginning February 1. Everything needed to make the toys will be provided in the kits. After participants are finished making the cat toys, they can drop them off at the library’s Children’s Department, and library employees will donate them to various shelters in the area.

The charity event is scheduled to start on Monday, February 1 and last all month. The event is free to participate in. The Patchogue-Medford Library’s address is 54-60 East Main Street, Patchogue. For more information, visit the library’s website.

To spread awareness of event specifics, their organizers often turn to professional print shops specializing in flyer and poster printing to create items to hang in library common areas.
