The 13th Annual Great South Bay Festival is about to get underway. The four-day event will have American-themed art, music, and other cultural displays and merchandise.
About 60 jazz, classic rock, zydeco, country, folk, and funk artists are scheduled to perform on four stages. Headliners include Taking Back Sunday, Slightly Stoopid, Lotus, and America.
Great South Bay’s Artisan Market will feature about 20 local artists and craftspeople selling their imported and original works. Some items to look for will be jewelry, drums, hooked clothing, therapeutic oils, and glassware. Some of these sellers will include Wormtown Trading, Meraki Rame, Spirit Sky Drum, Hooked Productions, Scents 4 My Soul and Shakedown. The Jerky Hut will be selling its famous meat. Northbound Train and PopPops Terrapin will be vending items featuring the Grateful Dead Logo Design.
On Saturday and Sunday, The Kidzone will have educational, high-quality entertainment and fun for the children. Saturday’s entertainment will be a one-woman circus, ventriloquist, and balloon circus guy. On Sunday, kids can see juggling, magic, dance, pseudoscience and the Up Past Bedtime Band. The Arts Wall will be available for kids to try their painting skills.
Local art organizations will place art installations throughout the venue.
The Great South Bay Music Festival begins tomorrow and runs through Sunday, July 21 in Patchogue Village.
