CPR/AED workshop planned for Patchogue area
Patchogue residents interested in learning CPR techniques and AED (automatic external defibrillator) usage should note that urSwim is hosting the Adult and Infant/Pediatric CPR/AED class in December.
urSwim is an organization providing at-home swim instruction in New York and is an Authorized American Red Cross Provider. The Adult and Infant/Pediatric CPR/AED class will teach attendees how to utilize CPR techniques in response to breathing emergencies in both adults and infants and how to use an AED for cardiac emergencies.
The course will be a blended lesson with an online component and in-class instruction. The online segment will be interactive, enabling students to respond to virtual simulations of real-world emergencies, and will require high-speed internet and a Flash-enabled PC. The in-class portion will be a skills-based assessment and will adhere to COVID-19 safety protocols, requiring masks and a six-foot distance between participants.
After completing the course, participants will receive a complimentary face shield and, for an additional $10 fee, will be eligible for an American Red Cross Certification valid for two years.
The class is scheduled for Thursday, December 3 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. The address is 64 West Main Street, Patchogue. Tickets are $119 and can be purchased from eventbrite.com. Organizers of such events often utilize businesses specializing in flyer printing to spread awareness of event specifics.
