Charity 5k to support parents with cancer
Proceeds is Courtney’s True Blue 5K is set to benefit the Courtney Lynn Blakeslee Foundation, an organization that gives financial support to children who have lost parents to cancer or have parents who are terminally ill.
Awards will go to the top female and male overall finishers and top three male and female finishers in each of 13 age divisions.
Patchogue runners who sign up for the Virtual leg of the event can run on their own time and at the location of their choice. They then go online and enter their times and upload selfies if they so choose.
Swag for the run includes personalized race number, shirt sporting the anchor and pearls blue and white event graphic design and a medal. Virtual runners are not guaranteed swag.
Free videos and finish line photos will be available online the same day as the race. Live results can be viewed online, texted or emailed.
At the time of writing, Courtney’s True Blue 5K is still scheduled for Saturday, May 9th.
Registration will be $25 preregistration for both the 5K Run/Walk and the Virtual 5k Run/Walk. The fee goes up to $30 on race day for the 5K Run/Walk. Kids can preregister for $15.
Check-in at Courtney Lynn Blakeslee Cush Pavilion, Corey Beach, 1 Corey Avenue, Blue Point starts at 7:00 am on Saturday, May 9th. The race begins at 8:30 am rain or shine.
