Birds to feature in Patchogue photography workshop

Next month, aspiring photographers will get a bird's eye view into the techniques of how to capture striking bird shots during the Bird Photography Class Workshop in Patchogue.

The workshop will be led by instructor Lindsay Silverman, a professional photographer with over 30 years of experience working as a general manager for Nikon Inc., and with 19 years of experience as a contributing editor of Nikon Magazine. His specialties include working with numerous models of Nikon, Nikon software, Adobe Photoshop, Luminar, and other packages.

The workshop will delve into a variety of both general photography topics and themes specific to bird photography. Students will learn about the equipment of bird photography, the best shutter speeds to use depending on if a bird is in flight or perched, how to shoot at different times of the day, lens selection, exposure, and techniques used to capture bird shots that will strike awe in their viewers.

Visual workshops such as this one may rely heavily on PowerPoint presentations to guide students through the materials. Busy instructors may look to graphic design artists for help creating striking visuals for the presentation.

The free bird photography class is scheduled to take place on Monday, March 25 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. It will be held at Patchogue Art's Council located at 20 Terry Street.
