LI Kick, providers of co-ed sports opportunities, will hold a volleyball tournament in Massapequa. Locals from the hamlet and nearby areas like Levittown and Hempstead are welcome to join.
The tournament will involve six teams from Long Island, and each team will play four games of pool play. Whichever team reaches 25 points first will be awarded a win. The top four teams that emerge will then head towards single-elimination tournament play. Whichever team wins will receive a prize and are invited to join the “Tournaments of Champions” competition on April 16.
Leading up to the event, LI-Kick is looking for teams to join the tournament. Poster printing is often employed to promote these events to potential entrants. Groups looking to join must have at least six members, three of whom must be female. Furthermore, Teams are required to pay a $200 fee if they want to join. Individuals looking for a team can join the Facebook group “Volleyball on Long Island” and create a post stating that they are searching for a team.
The tournament will take place on February 19 between 9:00 PM and 11:59 PM. Pool play will happen between 9:00 PM and 11:00 PM. The semi-finals will take place immediately afterwards, lasting for 30 minutes, which is then followed by a 30-minute championship game.
