On May 4th, 2012, Adam Yauch, perhaps better known by his stage name MCA in the hip-hop group The Beastie Boys, passed away. Today, the Nest will host a tribute party in his memory on the one-year anniversary of his death.
DJ Funktual, a YouTube viral artist, will be spinning all the Beastie Boys greatest hits starting at 4:00 pm. Those who arrive between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm will receive a free shot of Brass Monkey. Then, beginning at 5:00 pm, DJ Funktual will be shooting scenes for his next YouTube video. This should be a great event for those who are hardcore fans of the Beastie Boys, as well as those who have only more recently started listening to their music.
The Nest is located in East Meadow, New York, a short drive from Levittown. It is a bar and lounge that was founded in 2012. The event is free to enter, and the venue allows for casual attire.
Organizers for this event will probably want to turn to local printing companies to help advertise for it. The Nest will naturally want as many people in the bar as possible, and DJ Funktual will want a full bar for his performance and video shoot.
