Mall to hold clay sculpting class

One River School - Woodbury will hold its monthly Art Power Hour at Broadway Commons in Hicksville. The class is open to the public, and Levittown residents are welcome to join next month.

Each month, One River has a different activity for its Art Power Hour. For May, the focus is on clay sculptures. The event will give parents and their children a chance to use clay in creative ways and build a sculpture together. Cassandra Basile and Rhea Nayyar will lead the workshop. Both instructors are part of One River and possess history teaching art.

The event will follow COVID-19 protocols to ensure everyone’s safety. Space is limited for the class, with a maximum of 24 entrants. Everyone attending must also wear face masks during the entire workshop, and social distance must also be maintained.

If parents are interested, One River also has other art classes it holds for different age groups. These classes are usually supported with the help of printing services and can provide children with chances to build their creativity.

The class will take place on May 15th between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM. Registration for each family is $18, and entrants can find Broadway Commons at 358 North Broadway. Future Art Power Hours will be held on the third Saturdays of each month for those interested in attending future workshops.
