Levittown to host instructional lesson about animal anxiety

This June, Vivienne McCarthy and Koula Merkouris will be holding an information session about how pet owners can help their animals deal with anxiety in Levittown, New York.

The Fourth of July can be rather stressful for pet,s as fireworks can cause anxiety and panic to animals unaccustomed to such loud noises. McCarthy and Merkouris will be holding a lesson describing what people can do to calm their pets down.

One of the methods they will be focusing on is using essential oils as a way of helping animals cope with anxiety during stressful situations. Step-by-step instructions will be given to ensure the information is understandable. Organizations can also use brochure printing to provide guests with easy-to-follow guidelines on specific topics.

There are other tips that concerned owners can use to reduce pet anxiety when experiencing loud sounds. Having a safe space, such as a crate with blankets, will give dogs somewhere to hide when feeling nervous. Keeping the pet company while offering treats and playing with toys can also reduce their stress levels. Closing any curtains around the house can help minimize sounds that may hurt the pet.

The Essential Oils and Pets lesson will be held at 160 Center Lane next Thursday, June 20 from 8:00 pm to 9:30 pm. Tickets can be purchased for $7.74 each. All tickets for the event have a fee of $2.26. Refunds will be available until the day before the lesson.
