The Levittown Public Library will be holding a driving course this January that teaches people how to become safer drivers.
The Empire Defensive Driving Course is a class offered by the Levittown Public Library that allows licensed drivers to learn vital information about staying safe on the road. Those who complete the driving class will update their motorist skills, learning about modern rules for road safety and hazards that can be found when driving. Students who graduate from the course may be eligible for a multiyear discount with their auto insurance companies.
The Empire Safety Council has been working with drivers throughout New York and New Jersey since 1993 and has educated over two million students. The organization hosts defensive driving courses in numerous locations, offering people benefits such as reducing points on their driving records and saving money on their insurance. Courses offered by the council focus on state-specific rules rather than using a generic program. Instructors for classes like this can use Print shops to create custom pamphlets for students to study.
The Empire Defensive Driving Course will be held on Saturday, January 25 at 9:30 am in the library meeting rooms. Anybody interested in signing up for the driving class must register at the reference desk in advance. The price for the course will cost $38 per person, though those who are 60 and older can pay $33 instead.
