Players from one of the East Coast’s most recognizable football teams have stepped up to help two young people enjoy their prom.
Sarah Kardonsky already had a date to the Division Avenue High School prom when her friend, Michael Pagano, asked her, so she turned him down.
Upon finding out that he didn't have a date after asking several other students, Sarah changed her mind and decided that she would go to prom with Michael, who has autism. However, she wanted to make her ‘promposal’ something to remember, she so reached out to players from the New York Jets football team to help her ask Michael to the prom. They agreed, and soon Sarah's promposal video went viral.
Michael said yes, and the pair attended their prom on June 12th. However, the prom was just the highlight of what turned out to be the couple's 15 minutes of fame. They were invited to appear on Ellen DeGeneres' daytime talk show, during which she gave them Jets jerseys and glittering prom crowns.
The Jets also invited the two to attend a practice, where they got to meet players such as cornerbacks Antonio Cromartie and Darrelle Revis. They also got tickets to an upcoming Jets game and VIP field passes.
The school district can use a local Print company to highlight the kindness of Sarah and to encourage other students to be equally kind.
Sarah's promposal led to a number of acts of goodwill from strangers, too. Someone in California offered to buy her dress after reading about her promposal. Since she already had one, the man donated $1,000 to purchase an adaptive bicycle for a disabled child in Sarah and Michael's names.Get a Free Quote for Print
