Summer might be coming to an end, but there are still plenty of opportunities for fun in Levittown.
In nearby Farmingdale, people are saying goodbye to the season with a free, two-day festival. More than 20 musical acts are set to take the stage at the festival throughout this weekend. The organizers could use poster printing to advertise the festival and some of the big name acts set to appear.
The headliners for the event include Buckwheat Zydeco (a band from Louisiana) and Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels (a classic rock outfit). A number of other genres will be well represented on the stage, such as Americana, funk, and jam bands. Local artists such as Gene Casey and the Lone Sharks (who recently won the LI Sound Award), the Electric Dudes, and blues performer Kerry Kearney will also perform.
Although music is the main attraction, there are a number of other events scheduled for the festival. A craft fair, ‘Art in the Park’, is set for Saturday and a large farmers' market will be held on Sunday. There will also be a KidZone area, featuring music for children and a number of child-friendly activities.
The festival starts at 1:00 pm on Saturday and goes until 9:30 pm. On Sunday, events begin at 1:00 pm and go until 7:30 pm. It will take place on Main Street between N. Front Street and Prospect Street in Farmingdale Village.
