Animal shelter near Levittown waiving adoption fees

Residents of Levittown and the surrounding area will be able to give a pet a "forever home," for free, this summer.

The Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter is running a promotion all summer long, during which it will waive all adoption fees. Named the "Summer of Love," the promotion will also include spaying or neutering surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations and microchipping for no additional charge.

Speaking to the Levittown Patch, Anthony J. Santino, the supervisor of the town, stated:

"The Town of Hempstead is committed to finding permanent homes for all of our shelter’s great dogs and cats.”

Regional organizations can use flyer printing to spread the word about current promotions and to tell the public where to look for additional information. Potential pet parents in Levittown can visit the shelter's website to learn more about the cats and dogs who are available for adoption. Photos of the available pets are also online.

To further sweeten the "Summer of Love" deal, which applies from this week through September 3, 2017, the Town of Hempstead has joined forces with several area businesses. Adopting households will receive a couple for one free grooming session at Dog Grooming by Rachel, in Bellmore. Hicksville's Island Trees Veterinary Hospital will give new adopters a $25 off coupon plus a coupon for a free examination. Woodmere's Fido Fitness Club is offering coupons to get a free half-day of day-care for your dogs and for a free training class.
