Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” will take place in Buffalo early in the new year. The performance is a semi-staged concert in collaboration with the Hillman Opera.
Directed by Julie Newell and conducted by JoAnn Falletta, Your BPO and SUNY Fredonia Hillman Opera have joined together to bring a celebration of Mozart’s birthday to the area. The production of this well-known piece is two hours and will be sung in English, so seasoned guests as well as newcomers can understand and enjoy the performance.
The cast is made up of several artists including Kyle van Schoonhoven, Danielle Beckvermit, Lucia Flowers, James Harrington, and Michael Hawk. Other performers include Jordan Pitts, Mary Hangley, Gillian Riesen, Amanda Bottoms, Katherine Joslyn, and Michael Aiello.
