Maria-Cecilia Simone Kelly, goes by the professional name of Rico Nasty, and began self-releasing mixtapes while she was still in high school. By late 2017, she had dropped five mixtapes, and her songs “Hey Arnold” and “iCarly” began to build a following for her on SoundCloud.
In 2018, she released two singles that brought her to the attention of Atlantic Records, who signed her and released “Nasty,” her sixth mixtape, that same year. Atlantic also released the collaborative mixtape she made with Kenny Beats, 2019’s “Anger Management,” along with her first studio albums, 2020’s “Nightmare Vacation” and then in 2022, “Las Ruinas.” “Nightmare Vacation” made it to the No. 1 spot on the U.S. Heatseekers chart.
She left Atlantic and released her third album, “Lethal,” in 2025 on Elektra and Fueled by Ramen, and in 2026, dropped her fourth album, “RX” on Sugar Trap. To date, she has four albums, more than 70 singles, numerous mixtapes, music videos, and EPs to her credit.
Critics have described her style as “upbeat,” “bubbly,” and “melodic,” no matter how she delivers it. A review says:
“This show was crazy. I had such a good time . . . You should definitely go see rico nasty if you get a chance.”
Rico Nasty will be at Electric City in Buffalo on September 10. When they book talent like this, venues can use poster printing to create advertising for them.
