Songwriter/harpist coming to Buffalo

A songwriter and vocalist who is also a gifted harpist is coming to Buffalo.

Mikaela Davis, who is based in the Hudson Valley, creates extraordinary songs focusing on the details of life people miss when they are distracted by world events. She celebrates friendship, finding the courage to go on in the face of difficulties, and what people can learn from nature.

A classically trained musician, Davis has used her training to create a body of work that cannot be confined to a single genre. Instead, she has blended bluegrass rock, psychedelia, and the pop music of the 1960s into her own unique catalog. She has appeared with artists as diverse as Circles Around the Sun, Bon Iver, and Bob Weir.

Davis and Southern Star, her band, recently finished a recording that features songs from “Delivery,” her debut album that dropped in 2018. The single “Don’t Stop Now” is also featured on the new release. Fans are also excited by the fact the group will be releasing their first studio album, a full-length effort, in 2023. A review of Davis in concert says:

“The show was fabulous!!! The musician's [sic] are so very talented. And there is something ethereal about the way Mikaela plays the harp !!! She has a sweet vibe!”

Mikaela Davis will be in Buffalo at The 9th Ward on August 23. Hosts of events like this could use flyer printing to create handouts to distribute announcing the show.
