Roller derby playoffs coming to Buffalo

Buffalo will be the site of roller derby playoffs soon.

The Queen City Roller Derby 2020 Playoffs are a family-friendly activity set for the Buffalo Riverworks. The teams that will eventually face each other in the playoffs are not yet known, so fans are encouraged to keep up with the schedule to see who might be in the contest. Tickets are already on sale for those who already know they want to see the game, no matter who is playing.

The Queen City Roller Derby (QCRD) is comprised of women's teams, and plays all its home games at the Riverworks, a venue that is also home to a concert space, brewery, a restaurant, three bars, ice rinks that are outdoors but covered, and a mezzanine on the second level with a view down to the roller derby track.

Buffalo has been home to the QCRD for 12 of the 14 years of its existence. There are now five teams in the organization: three house teams--the Saucies, the Devil Dollies, and the Alley Kats; the Subzero Sirens, a B-level team; and the Lake Effect Furies, who have been ranked internationally.

The playoffs will take place April 17, at 7:00 pm. Will Call will open one hour before the start time of the event, as will the doors. Attendees will not be able to enter the venue until Will Call opens. Flyer printing can be used to provide handouts for this event and similar contests.
