New restaurant to open in Buffalo

A brand new eatery is planning to open in the space briefly occupied by Gigi's Restaurant in the Northland Workforce Training Center.

Gigi's moved to Northland earlier this year after a fire forced it to close in 2015. However, the restaurant was too successful, and was overwhelmed by the strong response it received from its customers, and closed. At that point, the Buffalo Urban Development Corporation stepped in and released a request for proposals, which resulted in 10 responses. The BUDC cut the applicants to four, who were invited to interview.

The four were cut to two, who then went to the actual site, where they faced taste and stress tests, with a final judgment left to a panel of 11 members. The BUDC chose the Manna Culinary Group to operate the new restaurant. Promotional Products can be used to create brand recognition in cases like this.

The new team taking over the space comprises Reginald Ingram, Dale Holt, and Tina Grant-Holt. Among them they have more than 50 years' experience in food service. Ingram is a chef who operated his own firm, Ingram Brothers Catering, for over 30 years; he'll be in charge in the kitchen. Dale Holt has been in the food industry for over 30 years, and also ran his own firm, Holt's Cooking Company. Grant-Holt is an educator at the Emerson School of Hospitality, part of the Buffalo public school system. The restaurant is expected to open in early November.
