Manchester Orchestra is coming to Buffalo’s Riverworks, the first time in three years they have visited the city. Andy Hull, singer/songwriter and guitarist, formed the band in 2004 in Atlanta, and wrote songs for it while he was still in school. The band is named for the English city, since Hull and other band members liked the music being played by English groups such as Joy Division, and The Smiths.
The band dropped their first studio album in 2008. The provocative title, “I Feel Like a Virgin Losing a Child,” alerted listeners to the fact the tone would be heavy and dark, an approach that continues to define the group today.
The group often films themselves in the studio and on tour, and makes the videos available as podcasts. They have also appeared live on television and had their music featured on television and film soundtracks.

Manchester Orchestra will appear March 13 with the doors opening at 7.30 pm. Riverworks is on Garrison Street. When concerts like this are scheduled, organizers can turn to poster printing to create impactful advertising for the event.
