Iconic group to perform in Buffalo

An internationally known Irish musical group will be in Buffalo soon.

The all-female Celtic Woman was originally formed specifically to participate in a one-time event, held in Dublin, Ireland, in 2004. Their appearance was a huge success and launched an international career, boosted by regular airings on PBS stations.

Since their debut album appeared in 2004, they have released over 20 additional albums, selling over nine million records throughout the world. The original lineup was Máiréad Nesbitt, Méav Ní Mhaolchatha, Lisa Kelly, Órla Fallon, and Chloë Agnew, but the group membership has evolved over the years, as frequently happens with long-established groups.

Their debut album “Celtic Woman” was a smash, soaring to the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s World Music Chart where it stayed for 68 weeks, breaking the record held by Andrea Bocelli. The ensemble has won the honor of being named Billboard World Album Artist of the Year six times.

Their sound is a blend of traditional Irish melodies and contemporary songs, blended into a unique artform. Their repertoire ranges from modern material to Irish classics to original material. A review says:

“I wasn’t sure where the vocals began and the orchestra ended, yes, it was that good.”

Celtic Woman will be at the Kleinhans Music Hall on December 10. The venue is located at 3 Symphony Circle, in the city’s heart. When they book shows like this, organizers often use poster printing to create exciting advertising for them.
