Gratwick Productions setting up shop in Buffalo

Buffalo native Kris Hulbert, who currently operates Gratwick Productions in Los Angeles, is planning a return to Buffalo, where he will launch Gratwick in 2019.

Hulbert plans to start a WeFunder campaign next year, and hopes to raise $1m in the first round. He’ll use this to establish Gratwick Productions in the local area. Hulbert has been working in Hollywood for years, and is going to take a different route to many production companies by offering investors an opportunity to become involved for as little as $100. New businesses like this have a chance to create a new Logo Design.

Hulbert’s partner in the venture is Andrea Vahl, and the two believe building a production facility in Buffalo will give the investors influence and ownership over the company. Once people have ownership, the two believe, they begin to value the experience. The investors will be able to decide which films the studio produces, who is cast in them, and what charities should be supported by the projects. The studio will also give livestream access to investors so they can see production sets, meetings, and auditions.

At present, the creative team is looking in Buffalo and Western New York for a place to start its studio. They are also looking for industry creatives, supporters, and others who share their vision of a film production company that does not adhere to the Hollywood model.
