This May, the Buffalo Letterpress Basics class series is set to take place in the community.
Hosted by the WNY Book Arts Studio, these educational events are designed to teach students how to utilize images, ornaments, as well as wood and vintage metal type to create unique designs for Posters and cards. Each participant will learn hands-on how to complete letterpress printing step-by-step. The end results will include prints measuring a maximum of 11” by 27” or cards that are flat or folded. Each student can Print up to 25 Copies of their completed works.
Class participants who possess any level of skill with letterpress printing are welcome to register. All participants must be 16 years of age or older.
Members of the WNY Book Arts Center can register for the three-day event for a fee of $180 per person. Non-members are also welcome to sign up for $200 per individual. Participants may also choose whether they mind being included in photography for the WNY Book Arts Center to use. Flyer printing is commonly preferred by the organizers of similar classes to distribute printed copies of event information and rules for each student to review.
The Letterpress Basics classes will be hosted on three Tuesdays throughout next month including May 4, May 11, and May 18 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on each day.
