The Hofbrauhaus recently announced it is going to open its 10th location in the United States in Buffalo.

The company dates back to 1589, but its beer was first served in the U.S. in 1997, at Frankenmuth, Michigan's Oktoberfest. The first restaurant and brewery in the country was opened in Newport, Kentucky in 2003, and the chain has been growing ever since.

The Newport location, and the brew houses that have opened since then, have all been modeled on the original building in Munich, Germany. The majority of the restaurants are located where there is a ‘strong German ethnic heritage’, according to a statement from the company. Locations include Chicago, Pittsburgh, Columbus, and Cleveland. Buffalo was chosen because, according to the company, it has one of the highest concentrations of ethnic Germans in the U.S.

The Buffalo Hofbrauhaus will be sited in the Cobblestone District, at the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Scott Street. Among other amenities, the new restaurant will have a beer hall comprising 10,000 square feet, with towering 24-foot high ceilings. German music, provided by a live band, will be played every night.

Hofbrauhaus has been brewing the Weissbier associated with its name since 1602. This brew is still served today.

Restaurants like this can benefit if management works with a flyer printing company, which can create a handout for distribution near the site during the opening. By including coupons, the flyer may bring people into the restaurant who would otherwise not stop.
