Harter Secrest & Emery, a regional law firm, is leaving the Bank of America Building and moving to the KeyCenter, which is directly across Fountain Plaza from its current space.
The firm is moving to a slightly smaller space, but one which is more flexible. The KeyCenter offices are on the tenth floor, as opposed to the fourth floor in the BofA location. Harter Secrest has a 15-year lease on the new office; the building is owned by Key Success LLC of New York City, which also owns the Bank of America building.
Harter Secrest plans to move it staff, which comprises 24 attorneys and six other legal professionals, some time in mid-2016. The firm has been in its current location for almost 13 years.
KeyCenter’s management company, Key Success and Ciminelli Real Estate Corp., says having the law firm move in will help fill the space left by several tenants, such as Delaware North and KeyCorp, the building’s namesake, moving out.
The Bank of America will now have space available, and Ciminelli is trying to put together office spaces on several adjoining floors to market to potential tenants looking for spaces in the 80,000 to 100,000 square foot range. Ciminelli is looking forward to working with larger tenants who need these spacious offices.
Ciminelli and other building managers could create Brochures showcasing the spaces now becoming available in Buffalo's downtown.
