Williamsville invited to support local plant sale

Williamsville residents have been presented with an opportunity to do a good turn for a local historic site, and while they are supporting the park, they will also be purchasing some pieces of living home decor.

Due to their toughness in an urban environment, ease of care and range of colors, geraniums are a popular choice for a pot flower, and The Buffalo and Erie County Naval and Military Park has a fundraiser in the works that will feature these flowers. It will be held online, and anyone who would like to order some will be able to do so.

The geraniums will come planted in three inch pots, and lavender blue, red and white colors will all be on offer. These can be purchased singly, in groups or by the flat, and hanging baskets will also be on sale. The plants will be grown by Agle Farm, and customers will be able to mix and match.

Offering the public a chance to purchase their bedding and container plants is a fundraising idea that can be undertaken by many not for profit groups. A poster printing company will be able to help promote the sale by producing eye-catching publications.

The final date to place a geranium order will be May 3, and they will be available for pick up on May 7 and 8. The collection point will be set up at the park.
