Amherst toddlers craft spooky spider planters

An Amherst area small business has some special fun in store this Halloween season, and it is aimed at its little ghosts and goblins.

The team at Badding Farm market and garden center offer a variety of workshops and hands-on crafting sessions throughout the year, and in early October, it will be giving kids the chance to craft a spooky but friendly spider planter. This is being offered on a drop-in basis, and no advance registration is needed.

Each parent and child duo will be able to make their own planter using the soil, pot, plants and decorative supplies provided. There will be staff on hand to help, and it can be a simple way to introduce little ones to the joys of home horticulture. A materials fee of $10.00 is being charged, and the crafters can take their project home with them when it is complete.

Making a craft together can be a memory maker for kids and parents alike. Print shops can prepare a variety of handout materials such as informational, activity and care tip sheets to distribute during an event, which may help to keep the fun going even after it has wrapped up for the day.

Badding Farm has scheduled its Toddler and Me Friendly Spider planter activity to run from October 5th until October 9th. It will be available from 9:00 am until 5;00 pm.
