Williamsville event celebrates going green

Greening urban spaces can provide a wealth of benefits, and a Williamsville event will celebrate the local effort to “grow the canopy.”

The community’s Island Park will be the venue for Growing the Canopy, which will be an activity dedicated to putting the area’s ecosystem in the spotlight. It will be filled with both fun and learning, and several local businesses and groups have been invited to participate.

The function will see a variety of presentations that cover topics ranging from the benefits of choosing native species to general ecology, and everyone can visit the vendor booths. Food trucks will be parked on site so everyone can enjoy their favorite foods, and raffle draws and entertainment are included. Attendees can mingle and meet others who share their interest in nature and sustainability, and the gathering will run for six hours.

When organizing an event focused on the environment, planners often turn to Print shops to provide them with eco-friendly marketing options. They will have a range on offer, with a choice for almost any budget level.

This day dedicated to celebrating the importance of the urban forest is scheduled to kick off at 12:00 noon on Sunday, September 21. The venue for the occasion can be found at 5565 Main Street, and any interested business can contact the organizers at ecos.cooperative.inc@gmail.com.
