Potters take clay and other materials and transform them into objects that can be as functional as they are pretty, and a Williamsville workshop will offer an introduction to the practice.
Registrants in the upcoming Pottery Workshop will be learning basic techniques when they prepare a clay planter. It will be offered in a small group setting and is geared primarily towards adults, with tickets starting at $89.
The class will teach how to take a slab of clay and turn it into a useful item, and the organizers note that even experienced potters may benefit from the session. Students can choose the design and texture of their piece, and they will also be able to select their glaze color from the options provided. Anyone who would like to add an even more personal touch can use the alphabet Stamps. The completed projects will be fired and made ready for pickup a few weeks after the class has ended.
Many people enjoy picking up a new skill, and a workshop provides the opportunity to do so. A flyer printing company can help to spread the word about local events, and they often offer a high return on investment.
This introduction to pottery will be running from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Saturday, July 20. It will be offered at 14032 Clarence Center.
