Secaucus workshop to share secrets of shochu

Shochu, which some call “Japanese vodka,” has a long history, and those who take part in a Secaucus workshop will be treated to a deep dive into the past and current use of this fermented beverage.

The Sake School of America is offering seats in its upcoming Certified Shochu Adviser course, and the instruction will be provided by subject matter experts. The successful learners will be able to use their new skills and knowledge in the food service industry, and it will be an interactive experience with plenty of tasting and other hands-on learning.

The students will discover the differences between several premium varieties of shochu, and rice, barley, sugar cane, sweet potato and buckwheat based recipes will all be sampled. There will be a written exam at the end of the training, and each pupil will receive a review guide to help them prepare for their studies.

Offering this sort of training opportunity can give those who work in the food service industry an additional skill they can add to their personal toolbox. Course packages that include a class syllabus, promotional Pens, Notebooks and other materials can make it easier for each registrant to find success in this sort of workshop.

The Sake School of America has scheduled its Certified Shochu Advise course for August 31. It will run throughout the day, and will be on offer at 77 Metro Way in Secaucus.
