What's Happening in Red Bank, NJ…

Red Bank to host run and walk for charity

The Red Bank Classic 5K Charity Run/Walk will be held for the sixth year in the heart of downtown Red Bank in June.

Poster printing is often used to promote such events throughout a community, and this is more than just a fun event as it also gives back to the community. Proceeds from the walk and run will go to support the Third Grade Swimming Program of the Red Bank Family YMCA. This program provides free swimming lessons and safety about being the water to local youth.

The walk and race route is certified by USA Track and Field, goes through the charming streets of Red Bank, and is flatter than in many years past. Those who are 12 years of age and younger will be able to participate in the Kids’ Dash, which is a short and fun series of sprints by age group down Broad Street. There will be awards and cash prizes to the top three female and male winners, leaders in specific age groups, masters’ winners, and awards and bragging rights will be taken home by the fastest team.

There will be a Kids’ Zone and Fitness festival with wellness demonstrations, food, music, and family-friendly activities in the Broadwalk area. Afterwards, there will be a post-race party at the Robinson Ale House.

The Run/Walk will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday June 14.
