Red Bank to host holiday music downtown

People can shop and enjoy holiday performances throughout downtown Red Bank on Saturdays and Sundays this month.

The sponsor of these performances is the Red Bank RiverCenter. There will be brass bands, choirs, carolers, handbells, and musicians playing folk, rock, and jazz, bringing their versions of favorite holiday classics to the streets of Red Bank. There will be both strolling and stationary performers.

Manger of events and marketing for the Red Bank RiverCenter, Tom Hanley, said that the RiverCenter is proud to partner with the many talented musicians in the area for what is known as Holiday Harmonies. Hanley is inviting everyone to enjoy the sounds of the season while dining, shopping, and taking in the traditional holiday experience in Red Bank.

Scheduled in the lineup of talent is:

• The Tower Hill Community Band at Riverside Gardens Park; Nancy Scharff on Broad Street in front of Beijing; and the Shrewsbury Chorale on Monmouth Street in front of Dublin House on Saturday December 16.

• St. Peter’s Brass strolling on West Elm and the Sunken City Saxophone Quartet on Broad Street on Sunday December 17.

St. Peter’s Brass will return on Saturday December 23 and Christmas Eve Day. Brochure printing can be used to provide more details on such schedules and on such performers.

Parking is free on Sundays. The performances will be between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m.
