The Count Basie Center Teen + College Film Festival of the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank is now welcoming submissions, with the goal of showcasing and recognizing student filmmakers in New Jersey from seventh grade through college.
Students in seventh and eighth grade, high school, and college are able to make submissions to the festival. Students in high school and middle school need to be state residents while college students who are enrolled full-time in colleges in New Jersey are eligible to make submissions. In addition, graduates of high school who attend colleges outside of the state but consider New Jersey to be their legal residence are also eligible.
Flyer printing is often used to provide more details about the rules, regulations, and other pertinent information about the requirements for such festivals.
President and CEO of the Count Basie Center for the Arts, Adam Philipson, said that the goal of this festival is to give young talented filmmakers a platform and to demonstrate that making films is as vital and prolific as other artforms in the state.
The early bird deadline for a reduced entry fee of $15 is Sunday, January 22, after which a fee of $25 will be required until Sunday, March 26. Selections for the festival will be announced on Tuesday, April 11, with a screening of selections on the weekend of April 21 at the Basie Center Cinemas in Red Bank.
