Ocean Grove resident, Carl Swenson, and Asbury Park resident, Joel Barham, are the first recipients of the Caroline Huber Self Determination Award from HABcore, Inc. of Red Bank.

This award is sponsored by the Stone Foundation and recognizes the determination and growth of two residents in Red Bank towards financial stability and self-sufficiency. The award celebrates the legacy of Caroline Huber who was dedicated to uplifting her neighbors in Monmouth County and serves to provide opportunities for its recipients to pursue their dreams.
Joel Barham had a goal to find meaningful employment and stability and has achieved his goal as he is employed as a transportation aide by Monmouth Medical Center. Carl Swanson has been a member of HABcore for many years and is a talented artist. His commitment to his wellness and his many contributions to HABcore have earned his receiving this award.
Caroline Stone Parker Huber founded the Stone Foundation in 1997. The goal of the Foundation is to support collaborative efforts that help create whole and vibrant communities where the residents can experience enhanced well-being and greater stability in such areas as housing, education, health care, the arts, and employment. HABcore helps veterans, families with children and individuals with special needs to achieve stability and improve their lives.
