Ground has been broken on a parking lot in Red Bank to construct a condominium project of 10 units overlooking the Navesink River.
To be called Southbank at the Navesink, each of the units will be a townhouse design with either two or three bedrooms in a spacious open floor plan, modern designs, and upscale finishes. Featured will be full kitchens designed by Dekton, wood plank floors, and attention to detail. Homes will range in size from 2,142 square feet for a floor plan on a single level to 2,496 square feet. There will also be four duplex penthouses spanning close to 3,000 square feet with a private terrace. Glass panels from floor to ceiling in the units will offer panoramic view of Marine Park and the Navesink River.

CEO of developer Denholtz Properties, Steven Denholtz, said that each of the units is expected to cost $1.5m to build. Mayor Pasquale Menna said these new units are targeted to those looking to downsize to a property that is more manageable and to exit-level older people and entry-level young people. He added that the location of the project will keep the borough economically viable as it will bring more people to the downtown area.
The project is expected to be completed in 15 months.
