Vic Rallo, owner of the Birravino restaurant in Red Bank on Riverside Avenue, has purchased the gas station next door. The entrepreneur is hoping to restore the building and create a new gateway to the town.
Such sites can benefit from banner printing to inform residents and visitors of upcoming transformations.
Rallo has partnered with Mancini Duffy Architecture, a full-service architectural firm specializing in design and planning that has seven offices nationwide and an office in Red Bank, to transform the gas station into a bustling destination. As yet, Rallo has not provided any details about the business planned for the site.
President and Principal at Mancini Duffy, Christian Giordano, said that Red Bank has always been a part of his life. He added that although he grew up in Middletown across the river, he raised his family in Red Bank, and that corner on which the gas station stands has always been the symbolic start of the town.
James Gambacorto of Middletown was the seller. Originally Jimmie’s Service Station, the property later became a Raceway station until 2020. After a short stint as Bridge Avenue Gas, it closed for good.
Environmental cleanup has begun on the site and Rallo is hoping that whatever is built on it will be completed by June of this year.
