Financial reporting award given to Red Bank school district

The Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting (COE) has been awarded to the Red Bank Borough School District by the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO).

The COE from the ASBO recognizes school districts where high standards of the program for transparency and financial reporting have been met. The COE was awarded to the district for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the fiscal year that ended in 2023. This is the seventh year in a row that the district has earned this honor.

News of such awards and their significance is often made known throughout a school district and its community with flyer printing.

Dr. Jared Rumage, Superintendent of Schools, has given credit to Anthony Sciarrillo, School Business Administrator, and the Red Bank Borough Board of Education for prioritizing transparency and for their level of detail.

Dominic Kalorin, president of the Board of Education, said that this certificate further recognizes the excellence of those who lead the public schools in Red Bank and the commitment of the Board to practical and deliberate planning for the long term.

Jim Rowan, International Executive Director of the ASBO, Jim Rowan, said that the COE in Financial Reporting has been the gold standard in recognizing and promoting excellence in financial reporting. He added that communications about the economic and financial state of a district is important in building the trust of the community and in their engagement.
